1X2 Network, a developer and distributor of gaming content, has joined forces with Skywind Group to introduce its game portfolio to Romanian players. Through this collaboration, well-received games such as Plinko Go, Smoking Hot Fruits, and Maverick will be accessible on Skywind’s Romanian platforms, including websites like princesscasino.ro. This alliance reflects a broader movement of gaming enterprises capitalizing on the expanding Romanian market. Thunderkick, a fellow slot provider, recently undertook a comparable initiative, underscoring the region’s importance. This heightened activity within Romania, with entities like Octoplay, BGaming, and Imagine Live also making strategic decisions, suggests a possible surge in the region’s gaming industry. To delve further into this development, stay tuned for the upcoming February edition of Trafficology magazine.

Ana-Maria Baciu, a legal expert specializing in intellectual property and a participant in the Romanian National Association of Intellectual Property Attorneys, stated that Romanian regulatory bodies have issued roughly 475 second-category permits to gaming operators since 2016. A considerable number of these permits, approximately 140 to 150, were given to software and game developers, with almost 25 granted in 2023 alone.

She stressed that the industry remains robust despite modifications to permit costs in October 2023.

Commenting on the recent alliance, Christopher Reed, Client Relations Manager at 1X2 Network, conveyed his excitement, mentioning that the collaboration with Skywind Group creates opportunities for them to reach some of Romania’s most favored online platforms. He underscored Skywind Group’s remarkable collection of collaborations with top-tier developers in the sector and proudly declared the inclusion of 1X2 Network’s cutting-edge slots and games to their offerings.

Reed further emphasized the significance of the Romanian market for 1X2 Network since securing their Romanian permit in 2022 and believes that the alliance with Skywind Group will substantially aid their growth initiatives in the area.
