Bellagio’s Iconic Holiday Trees to Return After Formula One Hiatus

The Bellagio is preparing to reinstate its famous festive exhibition of soaring evergreen trees, a welcome comeback after a brief redesign for the Formula One Grand Prix.

Earlier this week, numerous trees of various heights, some reaching over 30 feet, were observed on the Bellagio’s grounds, suggesting the impending arrival of the Christmas season. These grand trees are anticipated to reclaim their customary positions along the walkway in front of the Bellagio Fountains, where they have always served as emblems of the holidays, before being briefly relocated to provide improved sightlines for the summer’s Formula One races.

MGM Resorts International, the hotel’s proprietor, appears to be moving quickly to restore the Bellagio’s signature holiday allure. While the specific varieties of trees and the exact schedule for their installation are still being determined, Krystal Webb from MGM affirmed that the trees are projected to adorn the waterfront property by year’s end.

The choice to displace the trees was part of a broader strategy to furnish unobstructed vistas of the race for the Formula One enthusiasts seated in the specially erected, three-level Bellagio Fountains Club grandstand, which accommodated 3,600 viewers. This grandstand, constructed to satisfy Formula One’s specifications, generated its share of traffic congestion and public complaints during its construction, which commenced in the spring and continued until shortly before the Grand Prix earlier this month.

Following the culmination of the Grand Prix on November 18th, MGM guaranteed the public of its dedication to promptly return the zone in front of the hotel to its familiar grandeur in anticipation of the holiday season.

MGM Resorts Vice President, Andrew Lanzino, responsible for citywide events, stated that the temporary structure must maintain the same level of excellence as the Bellagio.
