Australian Watchdog Cracks Down on Illegal Gambling Websites

The Australian media watchdog, known as the ACMA, is taking action against unlawful international gaming platforms. They have received many grievances about 18 specific websites, including well-known ones such as Syndicate Casino and iLucki. Following an inquiry, the ACMA determined that these platforms were functioning in breach of Australian regulations. Consequently, they are requesting that Australian internet service providers restrict access to these websites. The ACMA is advising anyone who utilizes these sites to remove their funds promptly.

This represents the most recent step by the ACMA to tackle illicit gambling. Since 2019, they have issued comparable blocking requests for more than 200 websites. These endeavors appear to be effective, as over 100 unlawful operators have exited the Australian market since 2017. The ACMA aims to safeguard Australians from the risks of illegal gambling by blocking these sites.
