The United Kingdom’s Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) is implementing more stringent advertising regulations to safeguard young individuals and those susceptible to gambling-related issues. Effective December 1st, 2023, 20% of all gambling advertisements across television, radio, and digital platforms will be mandated to promote responsible gambling practices. Furthermore, all online gambling promotions will be required to target individuals aged 25 and above. BGC Chief Executive Michael Dugher highlighted the organization’s dedication to elevating standards and fostering positive transformations within the sector, asserting that “Safeguarding young people is our paramount concern.” Dugher also underscored the significance of disseminating the message regarding responsible gambling.

Fully committed to enhancing gambling safety. While crucial, it goes beyond tools like deposit caps and breaks. It’s about ensuring individuals facing gambling challenges receive necessary assistance. These recent global standards for gaming regulators significantly elevate expectations, and we are completely aligned with advancing these benchmarks.”

This declaration follows the UK Gambling Commission and Betting and Gaming Council’s earlier choice to revoke In Touch Games’ internet gaming authorization within Great Britain.
